Bien dormi, même avec le bruit de l’écluse. Nous avons un long chemin à faire aujourd’hui donc nous partons tôt, à 7 h 30 et petit-déjeunons en route. Un conduit pendant que les autres mangent en bas puis on change. Il fait gris et il souffle un bon vent, juste de face pour nous mais comme on est sur le canal il n’y a pas de vagues. Toute le début de la matinée nous sommes seuls sur ce grand canal. Vers 10 h 30, nous prenons, en honneur de nos invités, notre « morgen kaffe ». Et plus tard nous commençons à voir d’autres bateaux. A un moment nous voyons de l’autre côté une grosse lumière rouge qui clignote et tous les bateaux dans ce sens s’arrêtent. Une voix annonce plein de choses mais seulement en allemand. Bon, c’est de l’autre côté, ce n’est pas pour nous. Mais un peu plus loin, c’est notre tour d’avoir trois petites lumières qui clignotent, deux rouges sur une blanche. Jens a une liste de tous les signaux, mais nous ne trouvons pas celui-là. On ne sait pas trop quoi faire, mais un bateau de la police du canal est arrêté près de l’endroit où on passe. Nous allons le voir et demandons ce que nous devons faire. Pas de problème, on peut passer, c’est seulement si les trois lumières clignotent rouge qu’il faut s’arrêter. Bon lunch en route, navigation sans histoire et nous arrivons à Rendsburg, la ville où nous allons.nous arrêter. Le pont de chemin de fer de Rendsburg au dessus du canal est célèbre, c’est une œuvre d’art du même style que la tour Eiffel, construit en 1913. Il est haut, 42 m et pour arriver à la gare de Rendsburg au niveau du sol il fait une grande boucle autour de la ville. De plus il avait un système de ferry accroché à un charriot sous le haut du pont. Mais en janvier 2016, un navire a fait collision avec ce ferry et les deux employés du ferry ont été tués. Le service de ce ferry est donc suspendu pour le moment. Nous prenons un petit fjord qui nous amène à une marina en ville. Nous avons un peu de mal à nous amarrer, l’avant ça va mais l’arrière c’est entre deux poteaux et nos cordes sont trop courtes, mais on y arrive. L’ankerdram est un café puis promenade en ville. La promenade de la marina au centre emprunte un joli parc et Rendsburg a de belles vieilles maisons. Nous assistons au début d’une manifestation et, d’après Peter qui est le seul parmi nous à parler allemand, il s’agit de protester pour améliorer le sort des gens âgés. Jens nous mijote ensuite un bœuf bourguignon « à la Jens » à la cocotte-minute, bon diner dehors au soleil. Puis grande promenade après diner pour aller voir le pont qui est vraiment impressionant.

We slept well, even with the noise of the lock. We have a long way to go today so we leave early, at 7:30 am and breakfast on the way. One is steering while the others eat and then we change. It is gray and it blows a good wind, right in front of us but as it is on the canal there are no waves. Early in the morning we are alone on this great canal. Around 10:30 am, in honor of our guests, we take our "morgen kaffe". And later we start seeing other boats. At one moment we see on the other side a big red flashing light and all the boats in this direction stop. A voice announces a lot of things but only in German. Well, it's on the other side, it's not for us. But a little further, it is our turn to have three small lights that are flashing, two red on a white. Jens has a list of all the signals, but we don’t find that one. We don’t know what to do, but a canal police boat is stopped near where we are passing. We come close to it and ask what does it mean. No problem, you can go, it is only if the three lights are flashing red that we have to stop. Good lunch en route, rest of the day without problem and we arrive at Rendsburg, the city where we are going to stop. Rendsburg railway bridge above the canal is famous, it is a work of art of the same style as the Eiffel tower, built in 1913. It is high, 42 m and to come down at the railway station of Rendsburg at level 0 m, it makes a great loop around the city. In addition he had a ferry system hooked to a trolley under the top of the bridge. But in January 2016, a ship collided with the ferry and the two ferry employees were killed. The service of this ferry is therefore suspended for the moment. We take a small fjord which brings us to a marina in town. We have a little difficulty docking, at the front it’s OK but the back is between two poles and our ropes are too short, but we manage at the end. The ankerdram is a cafe and then we go for a walk in town. The promenade of the marina in the center is through a nice park and Rendsburg has beautiful old houses. We are witnessing the beginning of a demonstration and, according to Peter, who is the only one among us to speak German, they are protesting to improve the lot of the elderly. Jens then cooks us a bœuf bourguignon "à la Jens" in the pressure cooker, good dinner outside in the sun. Then long walk after dinner to see the bridge which is really impressive.
