12.07.2017 Brundsbüttel (Début/Start Kiel Canal)

Il pleut. Jens va quand même acheter du pain frais pour le petit-déjeuner, un bon bonhomme. Nous finissons le ménage et je commence le blog. La marée est au plus bas à 10 h 30 puis remonte et nous « pousse » après. Mais Ingo nous a dit qu’il ne faut pas partir juste quand la marée change, il vaut mieux attendre une heure, au moins, après. Nous partons donc à 11 h 30 et avons encore un peu de courant contre. Mais après 12 h15 nous avons un bon courant avec nous et allons à 7 nœuds.Il pleut, il fait gris, ce n’est pas folichon. L’estuaire se rétrécit et nous voyons l’autre côté maintenant. Pas mal de circulation de grands navires dans les deux sens. Je finis le blog. Arrivés en face de l’ouverture du Canal de Kiel, il nous faut traverser « l’autoroute » des navires. Cela se passe bien, nous attendons qu’un navire venant de notre droite passe et y allons. Nous nous raprochons de la petite écluse et Jens téléphone. On nous répond que l’écluse va ouvrir dans 20 minutes et que nous devons ressortir et attendre à l’extérieur sur la rivière. Une grosse lumière rouge clignote et quand elle clignotera blanc, on pourra rentrer. Nous attendons en compagnie d’un voilier suédois, la lumière change et on rentre, un troisième voilier entre aussi. Dans l’écluse, j’amarre Maja à un ponton flottant le long du mur, c’est un bon système, je peux aller dessus. Le gars du troisième voilier, un Allemand je crois, vient nous voir, on peut marcher sur le ponton et nous parlons un peu. Il est fier de nous annoncer qu’il rentre d’un grand voyage, de Palma de Majorca … Puis la porte s’ouvre et nous sortons. Nous traversons le chenal et entrons dans la marina, une petite marina carrée sur le côté gauche du canal où nous payons la folle somme de 8 € pour une nuit. Il est 15 h 30 et, bon timing, Peter et Kirsten arrivent à 15 h 40. Il pleut toujours, donc nous prenons le café et mangeons les bons gâteaux qu’ils ont apportés à l’intérieur. Puis la pluie s’arrête et le soleil se montre un peu, nous allons faire une promenade dans la ville de Brunsbüttel, petite ville verte et ordonnée. Nous allons aussi voir la grande écluse, c’est toujours intéressant de voir ces grands navires monter ou descendre dans l’écluse. Nous saluons deux « pays », deux navires immatriculés à Bergen. Bon diner d’un carré d’ageau, dessert de fraises à la crème et bonne soirée. Des bateaux entrent et sortent dans l’écluse jusqu’à minuit.

It is raining, but Jens rides anyway to buy fresh bread for breakfast, a good man. We finish cleaning and I start the blog. The tide is at it’s lowest at 10:30 am and then rises and "pushes" us. But Ingo told us that we should not leave just when the tide changes, it is better to wait an hour, at least, afterwards. So we leave at 11:30 am and still have some current against us. But after 12:15 we have a good current with us and go at 7 knots. It is raining, it is gray, it is not funny. The estuary narrows and we see the other side now. Quite a lot of big ship traffic in both directions. I finish the blog. Arriving in front of the Kiel Canal entrance, we have to cross the ships "highway". This is going well, we are waiting for a ship coming from our right to pass and go. We get closer to the little lock and Jens phones. We are told that the lock will open in 20 minutes and we have to go out and wait outside, in the river. A big red light blinks and when it’ll blink white, we can enter the lock. We are waiting in the company of a Swedish yacht, the light changes and we enter, a third sailboat is coming too. In the lock, I moored Maja to a floatting pontoon along the wall, it's a good system, I can step on it. The guy from the third sailboat, a German I think, comes to see us, we can walk on the pontoon, and we talk a little. He is proud to announce that he is returning from a long journey, all the way from Palma de Majorca ... Then the gater opens and we go out. We cross the channel and enter the marina, a small square marina on the left side of the canal where we pay the crazy sum of 8 € for one night. It's 3:30 pm and, good timing, Peter and Kirsten arrive at 3:40 pm. It's still raining so we have coffee and eat the good cakes they brought inside. Then the rain stops and the sun comes out a little, we go for a walk in the town of Brunsbüttel, small green and orderly town. We go also to see the large lock, it is always interesting to see these large ships go up or down in the lock. We salute two "compatriots", two ships registered in Bergen. Good diner of a lamb carré, dessert of strawberries with cream and good evening. Ships enter and leave the lock until midnight.
