Nous profitons du beau temps du matin pour aller nous promener en ville. Ayamonte, comme son nom l’indique, est une vieille ville construite sur une colline. Les rues montent et descendent et même des escaliers font de même. Nous allons aussi porter du linge à laver et la dame de la laverie est française. Nous trouvons le bureau de tourisme qui est installé dans un palais du quinzième siècle au patio tout plein de plantes. Nous longeons la rivière qui, ici, est très large, et, comme la marée est très basse, une espèce de plage boueuse est découverte et je peux voir plein de bouts de verre polis. Le problème c’est que l’on ne peut pas descendre à cette ”plage”, il n’y a pas d’accès et c’est au moins deux mètres plus bas que la rue. J’ai envie de revenir, à la prochaine marée basse, avec une échelle. Nous rentrons et il se met à pleuvoir. Lunch au bateau puis Jens va visiter John, le gars qui a la boutique de choses de bateau. C’est dangereux de lâcher Jens là-bas. Il revient un peu plus tard avec un cadeau pour moi. Gentil, mon bonhomme. Ce cadeau est un moteur électrique pour l’annexe! Et en plus il a commandé une nouvelle ancre, bien mieux que celle que nous avons. OK, ce sont deux bons achats, je suis d’accord, c’est “godkjent” (accepté, reconnu d’utilité publique, en norvégien). Le reste de l’après-midi, il pleut et il fait frais. Jens met le chauffage électrique, nous sommes maintenant branchés à terre. En fait nous avons deux chauffages électriques: un qui chauffe vite mais fait du bruit, il a un ventilateur, et quand c’est assez chaud, un autre, plus petit et silencieus, qui maintient la température. Soirée tranquille, bien au chaud et avec un bon livre.

We take advantage of the good weather in the morning to go for a walk in town. Ayamonte, as its name suggests, is an old city built on a hill. The streets go up and down and even stairs do the same. We deliver clothes to the laundry and the lady at the laundromat is French. We find the tourist office that is installed in a palace from the fifteenth century, the patio is full of plants. We walk along the river which is very broad here, and as the tide is very low, a kind of muddy “beach” is discovered and I can see lots of polished pieces of glass. The problem is that we can not go to this "beach", there is no access and that is at least two meters lower than the street. I think of coming back at the next low tide with a ladder. We go back to the boat and it starts raining. Lunch at the boat and Jens will visit John, the guy who has the chandler, the boaty things shop. It's dangerous to let Jens there. He returned later with a gift for me. Very nice, my man. This gift is an electric motor for the tender! And in addition he has ordered a new anchor, much better than the one we have. OK, these are two good purchases, I agree, it's "godkjent" (accepted, recognized of public utility, in Norwegian). The rest of the afternoon, it's raining and it's cool. Jens puts on the electric heating, we are now connected to the land. In fact we have two electric heaters: one that heats up quickly but makes noise, it has a fan, and when it's warm enough, another, smaller and silent one which maintains the good temperature. Quiet evening, cosy and with a good book.
